I was today year’s old when I learned that you can, in fact, get paid to be a professional sleeper! Okay, so if you actually look at this job position, as first reported by The Independent, you’ll need to do a bit more than simply curl up in bed all day. But still, how cool is this?!
Helsinki’s Hotel Finn has an official person who has to test thirty-five beds in thirty-five days. The goal is to test out each of the hotel’s room and later on write blog posts about your experience each night. In addition to the lengthy travel it would take to make it to Helsinki, candidates must speak both fluent English and Finnish. Apparently, speaking Russian is also a plus. Unfortunately, I only speak one of these languages.
So all it takes is some duolingo lessons and engaging writing skills! Why not just drop everything and try out this job! At the very least, I think American hotels should employ a person to do this, if only so I get to feel way more luxurious than I currently do. I think anyone would love to get paid to stay at a hotel, rather than the other way around! Maybe if you didn’t find your sleeping all that satisfying, you could ask for an extension of your residency?
