Back in the 1970s, Coca-Cola had a slogan, “Have a Coke and a smile.” An Australian restaurant has [taken that sentiment to a whole new level](https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/pablo-escoburgers-restaurant-draws-backlash-for-name-serving-hamburger-with-line-of-fake-cocainecocaine (garlic powder) and a fake $100 bill as a toothpick in an homage to Pablo Escobar.
The creation has sparked a huge online backlash by people that don’t think a brutal drug kingpin and murderer should be celebrated. Are people taking it too seriously?

It isn’t unreasonable for people, especially South Americans, to be upset. Pablo Escobar was a brutal, violent leader of the Medellin Drug Cartel which fought what amounted to a very bloody war with the Colombian government in the 1980s and ’90s. Under his leadership, the cartel murdered thousands of people in Colombia and the drugs they poured into the United States and Europe killed countless more.
While Escobar has become an anti-hero in some circles, with people making pilgrimages to his grave in Medellin, many, many more people loudly and angrily denounce him for the murderer he was. It’s the latter group that have made the most noise on FB.
