A Bronx mother is in a state of shock after a disturbing scandal involving her 4-year-old daughter and her daycare center, Lil Inventors Child Care. Sabrina Straker said that her daughter, Serenity, showed her some small plastic containers that she thought contained “teeth,” and were given to her by a boy at the preschool.
“I told her, ‘He needs to put that under his pillow so the tooth fairy will come,'” she told Inside Edition. “I was examining it, and she brings me more.”

Unsure what was in the little vessels, Straker took them to the NYPD’s 46th Precinct to be tested. She was appalled when a narcotics detective informed her that the vials contained crack cocaine.
At that point, Serenity told her mom and the detective that she’d also tasted one of the “teeth” at the request of her friend and that it was terrible. “We kept saying, ‘Why are you so hyper today, Serenity?’ Normally, you think she has a lot of sugar or something like that at school,” Straker told NBC New York. The little girl was then rushed to the emergency room, where she tested positive for crack cocaine. “She just couldn’t help herself,” said Straker. “She couldn’t stop talking. Even at the hospital, she was still up and going nonstop like the Energizer Bunny.”
If Serenity would’ve actually consumed more of the capsules, she could have easily died of a drug overdose. Realizing the grave danger of the situation that her daughter was put in, Straker immediately pulled Serenity from the daycare following the incident. She also wants the school shut down. “No one was watching the children,” she told WPIX TV. “There are 15 kids in the room with two teachers and two aides, where were they when this was going on?”
Lil Inventors director, Yvette Joseph, told the New York Daily News that someone tossed the drugs over the daycare’s fence and that’s how they got to the children. “We’ve been in the neighborhood for over 40 years, and nothing like this has ever happened,” she said. “Unfortunately, we live in a high-risk neighborhood, and it’s a neighborhood that, you know…you know what goes on in neighborhoods that are high-risk.” The NYPD’s investigation of the situation is ongoing.
