Want to make your company more like Google? Their newly launched website re:Work will help you with that. The website is dedicated to sharing what the HR team at Google has learned over the years — which could be a treasure trove of a move, since Google is well-known for having some of the happiest and most effective employees.
The site offers basic advice, how-to’s, and case studies that detail how other top-tier companies handle difficult HR issues. But it’s not all about learning how to handle tough situations. They also have case studies on how some of the best companies go about hiring the best person for the job.
Laszlo Bock, the senior vice president of HR at Google, posted a blog introducing the site, stating that the great response his book, “Work Rules!,” lead him to creating re:Work.
Bock writes:
“The re:Work website is our response to the community of people who want to make work better around the world. But we don’t want to just talk about Google, because we know we don’t have all the answers and have gotten a lot of stuff wrong along the way. So re:Work offers data-driven practices, research and tools from a variety of organizations and leaders to help make work better.”
This idea is pretty great. It’s not everyday that you get to see the inner workings of big company’s HR teams. Hopefully, every employer will take a page or two from here and apply it to their business.
